“The Ballad of John and Yoko” is a song written by John Lennon and released by the Beatles as a single in 1969. It chronicles the events surrounding John Lennon’s marriage to Yoko Ono and their subsequent honeymoon activities, including their infamous Bed-In for Peace. The song was recorded by just Lennon and Paul McCartney due to the unavailability of the other band members, and it features Lennon on lead vocals and guitar, McCartney on bass guitar and backing vocals, and session drummer Klaus Voormann on drums. “The Ballad of John and Yoko” was released on May 30, 1969, and it reached number one on the UK Singles Chart.
